A.  Position Objectives:

1. Primary objective of the Project Manager is to support the Branches and Regions in the development of Extended Scope or Scope Project capabilities aligned to the Nigeria strategic growth objective.
2. The Project Manager will sell, plan, coordinate and manage Repair Service projects for the installation, or maintenance of Dresser-Rand (D-R) and non-D-R equipment (more importantly within the Repair facility environment) depending of the support requested by the Branches.
3. The Project Manager will manage key suppliers in his assigned region in cooperation with the Supply Chain Management organization.
4. The Project Manager will support the Branches and Regions when dealing with Alliance Customers to ensure that alliance objectives in terms of Repair Operations are followed and that it's opportunities are fully utilized.
5. The Project Manager has the responsibility of managing material logistics for the repair work to be done and ensuring adequate procedural adherence to Dresser-Rand's policies on Logistics.
6. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring the issuance and execution of quality procedures and meeting said standards on all repair work done, working closely with the Quality manager's, Field Service Supervisor per attainment of requirement.
7. The Project Manager will be responsible for the profitability of assigned repair contracts and ensuring growth and surpassed customer service to the customers.
  
B.  Position Responsibilities:

1. Provide customer with technical solutions to operation and maintenance problems with special emphasis on promoting the use of the available Field Service technology and after-market support services.
2. Conduct operational audits at Customer premises to provide technical advice on operation problems and maintenance procedures and proposals.
3. Put together technical and commercial proposals for Maintenance & Major Overhaul schemes to Customer's requirements, and being accountable for the profit & loss element of projects.
4. Discuss/negotiate and finalise the proposal & any change orders with Customer in cooperation with Legal and Senior Management when applicable.
5. Provide a single point of contact for each assigned Field Operations Project on behalf of Dresser-Rand. As the single point of contact you will be responsible for co-ordinating and managing the deliverables from the different parts of the D-R business. This will include parts, technical support, Field Service, Tooling, Procurement, Shipping, and any 3rd party requirements.
6. Collect reports from Repair Centers and Field Services, review and amend where appropriate, to ensure concise, reports are issued to Clients in a timely manner.
7. Actively promote and sell the complete suite of Dresser-Rand Services.
8. Manage the customer interface such that it continuously demonstrates the effectiveness of the managed approach to Field Service Projects. Build, nurture, and maintain a robust relationship with the Client, fully understanding his progress requirements and barriers to success, whilst achieving a high level of customer satisfaction.
9. Generation and management of Project Execution Schedules.
10. Leadership and Management of all Field Service Project specific HSS&E Issues in accordance with the D-R HSS&E Management system and site HSS&E plans.
11. Directly manage the assigned Field Operations Project contracts to ensure costs are minimized, revenue is maximized, and Margin and Operating Income are in line with or exceed expectations.
12. Manage and close out all Punch list items following a project execution effectively.
13. Record, expedite and close out all short ship, site defect, site damage, and site problems utilizing the appropriate forms and appropriate D-R means and resources.
14. Effective reporting of contract status to D-R senior personnel and regularly appraising organisation of barriers to progress.
15. Visit the Client and Site as necessary to ensure a high level of Field Operations Project Management is maintained.
16. Manage the available resources (People, Parts, and Tooling) both internal and external, in a manner that meets or exceeds the specific requirements of the assigned Project. The available resource will be utilised to ensure that the contractual schedules and key performance indicators, are met or exceeded.
17. Contribute to the production and development of processes and procedures to support the Field Operations Project business.
18. Develop and install a contract control system which will include.
19. Establishing communication channels with the customer, contract team, and principle sub vendors.
20. Document and data transmission systems, for letter, fax and email communication.
21. Contract cost control.
22. Monthly status reports to supervisor and Branch Manager.
23. Periodic reports to the Client
24. Adhere to the applicable Guidelines and Tools, contribute to continuously improve the tools and support the Branch organizations in the use of these tools.


C. Position Requirements (Education / Experience):

Mandatory:

§  A Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
§  A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing projects (Within Oil & Gas & Power industries).
§  Intermediate skills in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Project and/or Primavera.
§  The willingness and ability to travel, sometimes with short notice.
§  English in verbal and written communication.
§  Able to perform well when under pressure, and with the minimum of Supervision.
§  Previous experience of managing teams of people both direct and 3rd party.
§  Core Competencies: Team Player, High Achiever, Customer Driven, excellent communicator at all levels.

Discretionary:

§  Experience on centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, steam turbines, gas turbines, power turbines, and expanders.
§  Ability to work in remote locations.
§  Knowledge of Process equipment and related process functionality.
§  Knowledge of Controls and Instrumentation equipment, including HMI's.
§  Should be aware of office and plant related regulations; both within the D-R organisation and when on Customer sites.
§  General sales skills, including: need identification, questioning, listening, negotiation and closing.
§  Strategy development skills.  
§  Motivated, dynamic & industrious with "can-do" attitude.
§  Good commercial acumen.
